The Presidents Cup Golf Challenge 2016

A win this year takes the Old Lyonians to a 2-1 lead in this annual competition between OLs and John Lyon School staff and students.

The 3rd Annual Presidents Cup Golf Challenge was played at Stanmore Golf Club, Wednesday 4th May 2016.

On a beautiful sunny day the teams were able to enjoy an un-interrupted 18 holes of golf.

After the 3rd match was completed the group gathered in the dining room to enjoy dinner and the presentation of the Presidents Cup to John Davies, Secretary of the OL Golf Society by Joe Kerridge, President of the Old Lyonians Association.

John Davies commented: “Thanks for organising the school side for what was a very enjoyable match. A really nice bunch of JL boys and will be great if the numbers continue for next year- I hope we will be up to full strength in numbers.”

 

Match 1                Rahil Patel (JLS) and Piar Kahai (JLS) played Joe Kerridge (OL) and Tony Lawson (OL)

OL's won 3 & 2

Match 2                Anooj Mehta (JLS) and Om Bakhda (JLS) played John Curtis (OL) and Sam Koch (OL)

OL's won 8 & 7

Match 3                Rhys Noye-Allen (JLS) and Michael Gibson (JLS) played John Davies (OL) and Geoff Sparrow (OL guest)

JLS won 3 & 1

The Old Lyonians won the challenge 2-1

 

The Head Boy Golf Challenge - Thursday 7th July 2016

Venue: Harrow School Golf Club

Registration from 1pm, play commences from 1.30pm
