The Fifth Old Lyonian Careers Convention - March 2009 PDF Print E-mail
On Wednesday 25th March 2009, the Old Lyonian Association - in partnership with the John Lyon School - held its Fifth Careers Convention. This time around there was an eclectic mix of careers on offer which included; Science, Information Technology, Politics, Financial Services, Dentistry and the Diplomatic Service. Six Old Lyonians, each qualified in one of these fields, gave a brief talk on their chosen profession and how they gained access to it. Afterwards, they led a lively and informative open questions session for boys and parents wanting advice and information. The Convention was very well attended and is proving very popular. As one parent said, “this is a great way to learn about a job and how to get there. It makes it even better to know that such advice is available from chaps who attended the school”.

Our thanks go to, Mr John Kerley, Professor Andrew de Mello, Dr Christian Small, Mr Barry Macleod Cullinane, Mr Darren Simons and Mr Nikesh Mehta for contributing their time and considerable expertise.
