Musician Peter Ulrich has recently launched a new CD, which is being promoted by the Harrow music store he visited while a pupil at JLS. In the early 1970s, Peter trawled the racks at Sellanby’s looking for progressive rock music records.

He went on to become a drummer and percussionist with the cult indie band, Dead Can Dance (1982- 1990), which involved touring in America, Canada and Europe. A wife and two daughters eventually took precedence, so the touring stopped but Peter plays on.

His travels have given him a passion for unusual instruments and his latest CD, Enter the Mysterium, features bamboo flutes, an African thumb piano and a Chinese-hammered dulcimer. “All the songs are about some form of different universal mystery or religious belief,” says Peter.

The link to his past makes Peter smile. “It’s funny to think of my CD being on the racks at Sellanby’s, when I think back to all the time I spent there as a customer," he told the Harrow Observer.
