Shooting for St George - archery |

On Friday 20 April, a couple of dozen members of the Archery Section got together for something they are good at ... having fun!
Beautiful home-made targets adorned four bosses at the end of the hall whilst Archers got themselves into groups, ready to take aim. With our traditional 'mysterious' scoring system, nobody knew who would win, reports Chair of Section Jane Prince - but nobody really cared either ... the idea was just to enjoy our Friday evening, in the name of the Patron Saint of England (other Patron Saints can be celebrated in equal style!).
We were delighted to welcome our friend Carol Edwards (a local archery specialist, of 'Carol Archery' and 'Company of 60' fame) who was on hand to offer help and advice to all - a real asset to members who have recently completed their Beginners' Course.
Thanks to Bill for organising the evening and to Carol for travelling some distance in Friday night traffic to spend time with us. We hope everyone had a Happy St George's Day on Monday 23 April!
