Speeches and Association Day PDF Print E-mail

The School year ended in traditional style with Speeches in the Harrow School Speech Room, followed by Association Day cricket matches in the afternoon, which took place at the Philathletic Ground.

The morning programme including speeches by the Chairman of Governors, Dr Owain Arwel Hughes OBE (pictured below with his wife, Jean), by the Headmaster, Mr Kevin Riley, and by the Guest of Honour, Dr Bernard Trafford, Head of Wolverhampton Grammar School since 1990 and Chairman Elect of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC). There was also an entertaining dramatic interlude from some of the leavers.

One innovation this year was the presentation by OLA President Mike Christelow of Old Lyonian ties to leavers. This took place in a special ceremony immediately after Speeches.

Also pictured below (around a table) are Deputy Headmaster David Rimmer and senior teacher Graham Ryder with leavers Sameer Jethwa, Benjamin Sehovic and Nasri El-Sayegh at an Association Day lunch in the Headmaster’s garden.
