Dr Domique Thompson, daughter of OL Peter Thompson (1961), spoke to current parents about the difficulties faced by university students and the increased level of distress. Our children are growing up in a more competitive and perfectionist society which has shifted their mindset to be more risk averse and anxious with their lives. She gave some practical tips and pointers, all covered in her book, about how parents can help their children from an earlier age to navigate better through these complexities later in life.

Thank you so much Dr Thompson for making the journey to John Lyon and speaking on such an important and topical theme that definitely provoked a lively conversation over drinks and nibbles amongst the parents and left us all with lots more to think about! Thank you also to Peter Thompson for putting us in touch and enabling us to run such an interesting event for our community.

Please see the Events page for upcoming events.
